NEWS RELEASESTATE DEMOCRATS: DALTO TO RUN FOR STATE AUDITORPosted: Sept. 1, 2006 The Delaware Democrats took an important step today towards an election that promises to show their increasing clout in Delaware. They announced that Michael Dalto will be their candidate for state auditor, filling out the last open slot on the statewide ticket. “This was the last obstacle we felt we needed to clear before heading into the fall. We’re now ready for November,” said Democratic Party Chair John Daniello. “Mike has decades of public service and government experience, and I think he will be a solid addition to our ticket. We are pleased that he expressed this interest.” Dalto was part of the Delaware Emergency Management Agency from 1981 to 2004. He was the public information officer and, for his final 17 years, the senior planner at DEMA. He also wrote the emergency management plan for the city of Wilmington, New Castle County, Kent County, Sussex County and the city of Newark. Dalto is looking forward to bringing his years of government and management experience to the auditor’s office. “Of all the things I learned while in public service, the most important was being a consistent and dependable presence for the people I served,” said Dalto. “One pledge I make today is that I will work with the same voracity no matter what month it is, no matter what year it is. Delawareans can always depend on me to be their watchdog.” Dalto was born and raised in Delaware. He graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in mass communications before receiving his master’s degree from California State-San Francisco. Dalto – a graduate of Salesianum High School – lives in north Wilmington. ### |
