URSOMARSO: RADIO SPOTS BEGIN

Posted: Sept. 23, 2004

Jim Ursomarso, Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, goes up on the air with a radio ad his week for the first time in these heated statewide races for governor and lieutenant governor. The ad, entitled “Best Choice for Lieutenant Governo,r” began airing Wednesday, Sept. 22.

The 60-second ad introduces Ursomarso as Judge Bill Lee’s running mate. This came after a successful first debate last week, where Ursomarso introduced himself as a candidate that will present positive changes to important issues, such as improving education.

The ad mentions Ursomarso’s opposition to the three-tiered diploma and how he will instead focus on real education improvements such as decreasing class sizes.  The ad also identifies Ursomarso as a “community leader who is not afraid to get involved.”  The ad concludes with Ursomarso noting, “Ursomarso might be a little hard to pronounce, but Judge Bill Lee and I make a great team.”

Announcer:  Want to know why Jim Ursomarso is Bill Lee’s choice for Lieutenant Governor? Because Delaware deserves the best. Jim Ursomarso is a community leader who is not afraid to get involved. As our next Lieutenant Governor, Jim Ursomarso will work alongside Judge Bill Lee to make Delaware the best.

Ursomarso:  Hi, I’m Jim Ursomarso.  Bill Lee and I know that Delaware’s best days are ahead of us. But to reach our goals, we need new leadership. Our public schools should be the best in the nation. As lieutenant governor, I’ll focus on reducing class sizes and increasing technical & vocational programs. I oppose the three-tiered diploma supported by the Minner-Carney administration.

I’ll work to make Delaware’s economy more competitive so we can replace the thousands of jobs lost during the Minner-Carney administration.

Ursomarso may be a little hard to pronounce, but Judge Bill Lee and I make a great team.

Announcer:  Jim Ursomarso is Bill Lee’s choice for lieutenant governor.
