STATE GOP: SCHNEE SHOULD COME CLEAN

WILMINGTON, DEL. --- The Republican Party of Delaware called on Democratic candidate Carl Schnee to tell the public the truth about his financial holdings.

According to reports on financial holdings published by the Center for Public Integrity, Schnee holds stock in WorldCom Inc as well as several other companies and corporations.

However, in radio ads, Schnee consistently criticizes the Republican Attorneys General Association for accepting money from WorldCom and other corporations. He even accuses Attorney General Jane Brady of being “bought” by these companies.

“This is the height of hypocrisy,” said GOP Executive Director Eric Sutton. “Schnee’s implying that contributions to an organization by a major company would cloud Jane Brady’s judgment – all the while he has financial holdings in that same company. Doesn’t he realize the people see right through his act?”

Mr. Sutton pointed out that so far Carl Schnee has not been honest about Jane Brady’s record of prosecuting criminals, nor has he been honest about his own record of defending criminals, so the fact that Carl Schnee has not been honest about this conflict of interest doesn’t surprise him.

“Carl Schnee needs to come clean to the voters of Delaware.”
