STATE
DEMOCRATS: EXEC DIRECTOR RESIGNS
Jonathan Pugsley, the executive director for
the Delaware Democratic Party, has resigned from the party due to
personal reasons. Pugsley assumed the position after the 2002
election cycle and succeeded Brenda Mayrack.
"I have really enjoyed my time here in
Delaware and at the party, but I am leaving due to personal
reasons," said Pugsley. "I wish the Delaware Democratic Party all
the best, and I'm confident in the governor and lieutenant
governor's ability to lead the party to victory in 2004."
Nicole Majeski will be taking over as acting
executive director of the Delaware Democratic Party until a
permanent replacement has been named.
Majeski, 24, has worked for the Delaware
Democratic Party for the past two years as the projects director. As
projects director, she has been involved in the party's fund
raising, event planning and communication efforts. During the 2002
election cycle, she also was involved in coordinating the party's
get-out-the-vote efforts.
"I thank Jon for all of his hard work, and I
understand his personal reasons for leaving," said state Chairman
Richard H. Bayard. "We hope to name a new executive director very
soon and continue on the path to re-elect our governor and
lieutenant governor. I am confident in the strength of our party and
that Delaware Democrats will be victorious in 2004."
