STATE GOP: GOVERNOR GRADED ON THE CURVE

WILMINGTON-- Republican Party Chairman Everett Moore responded to Gov. Ruth Ann Minner’s self-proclaimed “A” grade on her two-year progress report.

Gov. Minner and Lt. Gov. John Carney held a press conference to unveil a 36-page glossy brochure attempting to put a positive spin on the administration’s first two years. The governor’s spokesman told reporters 500 brochures were printed for $3,700 of taxpayer money.

“It’s reprehensible to spend so much of the taxpayers money on what is essentially political campaign material,” Chairman Moore said.

At the press conference, Gov. Minner proclaimed that her administration has been successful in improving education, the environment and economic development. She also said that if she were to grade her administration’s performance so far, she would give herself an “A.”

“If this administration gets an “A” then I’d hate to see what the curve is like,” said Chairman Moore. “Test scores remain mediocre and the governor has changed leadership in both her environmental and economic development offices – that doesn’t sound like the actions of someone who’s convinced they are on the right track.”

“More importantly, though, I’d like to know what grades the citizens of Delaware City would give this administration. I’d like to hear from the workers who used to make our license plates before those jobs went to Canada. I believe the men and women of this state would offer some very different grades.”

Chairman Moore said he would personally give this administration an overall grade of “C-.”

“This governor does deserve an “A” for self-promotion,” Chairman Moore said.
