GATES:
RUNNING FOR LT. GOVERNOR
WILMINGTON -- Kelly
Gates announced today she has filed a Statement of Organization with
the Delaware Department of Elections, formalizing her candidacy for
the Republican nomination for Lieutenant Governor in the 2004
elections.
“I am running for Lt.
Governor of Delaware because I have the leadership and insight
needed to get our state moving in the right direction,” Mrs. Gates
said. “I am eager to put my skills and capabilities to work for the
people of Delaware.”
Kelly and her husband,
David, live in Wilmington with their two sons. Kelly is currently a
principal at Gates and Company and a co-founder of Diamond State
Ventures. She is a member of the Hockessin/Pike Creek Rotary and
the Sedgely Farms Neighborhood Association.
Among other activities,
she served on the Delaware Preschool Association Advisory Board and
with the Junior League of Wilmington, supporting various
not-for-profit and charitable activities. Kelly is currently
serving as Vice Chair of the 12th Representative District
(elected). She graduated from the University of Tulsa (Oklahoma)
and earned an MBA from Widener University.
