CLARK CAMPAIGN: PASS HOUSE BILL 99

Posted: Jan. 14, 2004

General Wesley K. Clark announced his support of Delaware House Bill 99, an anti-discrimination bill that will provide Delaware’s gays and lesbians equal rights in insurance, housing, and employment. "This bill is crucial to the advancement of civil rights in our country today. I am confident that the Delaware State Senate will do the right thing and pass the bill for the sake of equality," stated Gen. Clark. The bill has broad support from many different organizations including religious groups, businesses, educators, and policy makers.

State Senator David Sokola, a strong advocate and co-sponsor of H.B. 99, believes that General Clark is correct in calling for the passage of the bill. Sokola added, "Wes Clark has shown us time and time again that he is really in tune with mainstream America's message of tolerance and equality. I applaud him for his efforts in support of this legislation and I will work day and night to see that it passes."
